    Floor

ing options abound in today’s showrooms and picking the best options for your household can be a duanting task. The easiest way to look at flooring is by asking a few questions and writing down your answers BEFORE you even go to the store or search online.

    1. What is my maximum allowable budget for this flooring project?

    2. Why will my household members be using this particular room and for which activities?

    3. Does anyone in my household need a certain type of floor surface for an assistive device such as a cane, walker, oxygen tank, and/or wheelchair? If yes, which types of flooring will be best for them in the rooms that they use the most?

    Lenders

revamped their underwriting criteria for loans and there have been many articles on the subject. My favorite one is from an article in BusinessWeek entitled “This is a Correction, Not a Meltdown.” BusinessWeek owns this article, so please read their guidelines for downloading, quoting and other forms of reproduction of this article.

    Gutter

cleaning is an extremely important activity for any homeowner. You can hire a professional or do this yourself. Falling off the ladder is a definite possibility, so consider ladder safety (call a home improvement or hardware store if you are not sure about this) before deciding to clean out your home’s gutters with the help of a family member or friend.

If you do not like heights, then hire somebody else to clean your gutters. Sometimes companies that pressure wash also clean gutters, so check around your area. This would be a way to utilize the same company for both services and would be an efficient use of your time and theirs. If you do clean them out yourself, make sure you are wearing thick, waterproof work gloves, work with another person who holds your ladder, and take frequent breaks off the ladder as needed. How frequently to clean your gutters? This depends upon many factors, but do so at least once per year after the leaves fall.

    Possessions

clutter a person’s entire existence including vehicles, homes, thoughts and offices. By focusing on one area at a time, you can really make significant progress. Even taking as little as five minutes for a few planned and written in the calendar as appointments per week can yield significant results in your life. So begin your decluttering today and pretty soon you will notice a beneficial change or two in your life. No pictures allowed…

Do you know why pictures of family and friends are not a good idea to keep on your walls when you want to sell your home?  Think about how difficult it will be for future owners to visualize their family and friends on your walls if all they see are the current occupants circle of friends and family.  What you want to create is an atmosphere that welcomes buyers to visualize their furniture, pictures, electronics, and other belongings as well as family members and friends inside your home that happens to be for sale right now. Written, copyrighted and all rights reserved 2007 by Sherrie Hartzell, licensed real estate salesperson in Virginia with Keller Williams Preferred Realty-Stafford, VA.
