National Museum of the American Indian visit http://www.nmai.si.edu/ for more information. In my opinion, this restaurant is the best food at these museums including wild rice, salmon, and many other menu options. It would take revisiting for several visits to cover their entire menu; incredibly well done food. Also, great place to visit with relatives, family, friends or even for a few hours of solitude and lack of outside distractions from people you spend a lot of time with and when you need a break from studying, working or home.
Easily accessed by driving and parking at a metro station, walking to the metro, bus, and taxi. Parking is a challenge on even the best days in DC, so allow extra time if parking a vehicle without a handicap access sticker. I’ve easily paid $35 or more for parking in DC and read all of the signs very carefully before parking on any Washington, DC, street. They ticket quickly and you might be in the wrong parking zone and get towed away. That gets expensive fast and ruins an otherwise wonderful day.

My avatar picture was taken at this museum. Their eating area has indoor and outdoor dining options with water features, waterfalls, tables, and lots of greenery. Everything about this place was done with the minutest attention to details and their environment cannot be beat anywhere. I wish more restaurant owners and managers would visit here and learn more about creating beautiful (real plants no silk fakes here), accessible, and all-age friendly spaces.
